In order to keep Michael Rood's schedule open for weekend speaking engagements, Shabbat Night Live is usually a pre-recorded show; no audience is present in the studio during these recordings. However, for certain special events, Shabbat Night Live is indeed a live show with a live audience, during which event participants become the audience.
